In which I ramble about my motivation (or lack thereof)

I think it’s fairly clear to see that my motivation is kinda a little bit dead at the moment.  I’m sorry.

But honestly, I’ve just been in a kind of blogging slump and I really hate that. It’s not that I’m not enjoying blogging, it’s just I can’t seem to find the motivation to post stuff, even simple lists and link ups. Sometime soon I need to do last month’s favourites post, and I’m also planning to do a massive Music Monday in which I’ll collate all the ones I’ve missed so far. But I just can’t find the motivation or time. Poo.

So, what should I do?

I mean, for a start, I could stop ranting here and actually try and put together a post with good content (because, let’s face it, I’m basically just moaning here which is one of the most boring things ever).

But anyway.  If you have any clue on how to get out of a blogging slump, let me know because honestly, I really need it.

Sorry, this was a really rubbish post.

  1. I’m awful at blogging so I completely know how you feel. It’s not that I don’t enjoy it, it’s just that when I actually have free time it’s never at the top of my list of things to do and so slowly gets pushed to the side and ignored. I usually find that writing out a list of all of the blog posts I want to do and then dedicating a whole afternoon or so to just churning out posts helps me get going and at least, if I’m still in a slump generally, I have a few weeks worth of content ready to go. Good luck!

  2. Reblogged this on A Good Blog is Hard to Find and commented:
Nothing wrong with ranting about it actually. Sometimes I have found that a good “rant” will push me towards wanting to write more. I even browse news websites and other blogs to get “annoyed enough to write.” Whatever we must do to keep those fingers moving because in that consistency is where we find our voice I think. At least those of us still trying to find that writing voice. I hope you keep at it and good luck! Maybe join some communities around WP or writing prompts. 🙂 -OM

  3. It definitely wasn’t rubbish. I was actually enjoying it. Sometimes ranting just helps. I’ve ranted about numerous things. Normally afterwards I can blog much better then before.
Ranting is just a way of human expression I suppose.

  4. So far have never stumbled across a BAD post from you. Wish I will get that good someday. I use The Daily Post prompts from WordPress when I need inspiration. If I don’t feel for the prompt, I check their archives for the same day a year earlier. Some times have to stretch a little to make it work, but if my goal is to turn out at least one 300 words or longer post a day, have to be willing to get my stretching in!

  5. What I always do when I get like this (I often do, but more in the case of I don’t know what to write about) I just start a new post and start writing about whatever and usually after a while I get a better idea in my head, a better post idea, and start writing that one instead! Did this make sense?

    1. It did! I’ll have to try that sometime (although usually if I do that it’ll end up being late at night and then it’ll turn really depressing. Oops)

      Thanks for commenting! xxx
